The Nokia N70 Mobile Phone Review
The Nokia N70 is the first of the N series to hit the UK shores. It is 3G compliant and comes with a 2 megapixel camera. Coincidentally it was the first Nokia Mobile phone to break the 2 megapixel barrier. The keypad is functional if a little small, there is also a 5 way scroll key to improve navigation. One downside is that the N70 scratches fairly easily so be careful with it.
The N70 is slightly outdated in today's mobile phone market. With phones like the Nokia N80 and N95 there are phone with more powerful features in the marketplace. Having said that, its camera does come with 20X digital zoom, comparable to other more recent mobile phones. The lens is not as good as the Sony Ericsson models such as the K880i, but it is good enough to take snaps of friends.
The N70 embraces 3G technology, indeed it is one of the first in the Nokia range to do so. The N70 supports video calling, video downloads and evcen mobile TV. The display is excellent, as you would expect from a Nokia mobile phone displaying 262k colours.
The internal memory is only 30 megabytes. By today's standards that is not enough and the expandable memory does little to improve this. If you are looking for a mobile phone that can handle lots of data, then this phone sadly isn't it.
Another problem with the N70 is its speed. All too often it freezes up, making it difficult to navigate. This can be fixed by software updates, which the later versions include.
Overall this is a good introduction to the world of 3G technology by Nokia. However this phone has been succeeded by the Nokia N95. If you are looking for the latest phone, you would be better served with this.
